Terms and Conditions

Beach Road Laundry Ltd follows standards and policies set forth by the TSA (Textile Services Association). These policies are standard to all dry cleaners, including dry cleaning stores.Our rules stipulate that the care label instructions on our customer’s garments must be adhered to in the cleaning process. Any garments with no care labels, or labels which are deemed unsatisfactory to TSA standards, will only be cleaned at the owners risk. Therefore all responsibility will rest with the customer to seek explanation or compensation with the manufacturer.We exercise the utmost care in cleaning and processing garments entrusted to us and use such processes which, in our opinion, are best suited to the nature and conditions of each individual garment. Nevertheless, we cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses or defects in materials which may result in tears or development of small holes in fabric that are not readily apparent prior to processing.In dry cleaning and laundering we cannot guarantee against colour loss, colour bleeding and shrinkage; or against damage to weak and tender fabrics. Beach Road Laundry liability with respect to any damaged items shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that garment, regardless of brand or condition. This procedure is based upon the Office of Fair Trading guidelines. No claims for damages will be recognised unless you advise us of same within forty eight (48) hours of collecting the garments.If we do not believe that we were at fault we will suggest that you accept the findings of an independent report by www.satra.co.uk or similar mutually agreeable organisations. If it is found to be our fault we will pay the full cost of the arbitration, we shall compensate the original dry cleaning charge.If we are found not to be at fault we will expect you to pay the cost of the arbitration.Guaranteed Stain Removal
Much as we would dearly love to guarantee to our customers the removal of every mark and stain from every type of material, we are unfortunately unable to do so. We therefore advise customers to be extremely wary of any company that makes such a promise.Delicate materials can be easily damaged by irresponsible over - treatment with inappropriate agents. We will use our experience to recognise when to stop before causing damage to the garment.What we can guarantee our customers is that we will always strive to achieve the best possible results (in many cases this will indeed be a completely clean and rejuvenated garment) without risking damage to the delicate materials.If we can’t get it clean, then no one can!Silk Dresses / Garments
If your dress / garment is made of silk and is being cleaned for the first time, you should be aware that even when using the most delicate dry cleaning techniques, there is a very remote possibility of very slight texture, or size changes to the silk. We are advised by various up market bridal stores and dressmakers so we can assure you of our specific experience when treating silks.Trimmings - Buttons, Beads, Belts Etc.
Although we are unable to accept responsibility for loss or damage to beads, crystals, sequins, buttons, diamantes, pearls, buckles etc., due to their inherent unsuitability for dry cleaning, we have unrivalled skill and experience in identifying the most appropriate cleaning methods for each specific piece having examined its decorative components.This is a design issue rather than a cleaning one - we have to rely to a certain extent on the fact that the dressmaker / manufacturer has attached the beads adequately and has used beads which are suitable for dry cleaning - although we will of course do our best to check and test the components before cleaning.All such items are cleaned at the owner’s risk, as we will not take responsibility under any circumstances.Garment Loss Policy
We exercise the utmost care in processing clothing items received, to avoid misplacement or loss of items. However, there will be instances where items may get misplaced or lost. As such, differences in the count of items must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Our liability with respect to any lost item shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that garment regardless of brand or condition.Collection Of Garments
Whilst we shall make every possible effort to process garments within the prescribed time-frame we shall not be liable for delays.In the event that garments are not collected within ninety (90) days we reserve the right to dispose of them as we see fit and shall not be held liable for any loss that you may suffer in such an event.Personal Items
Please check all of your garments for money, jewellery or other valuables prior to depositing them with us. If we find any valuables in your garments, we will make every effort to return them to you but we cannot be held liable for the loss of any such articles that are forwarded to us.
